Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
'Every child has a different learning style and pace. Each child is unique, not only capable of learning but also capable of succeeding.' Robert John Meehan
Intent
At St Catherine's, we welcome everyone into our school community. We believe that high quality first teaching is vital for all children to make progress. However, some children may need additional support to achieve their full potential. We work as a team to ensure that all pupils are able to access the National Curriculum at an appropriate level. The children at the school who have special educational needs make good progress.
Parents of SEN pupils are offered regular update meetings with our SENCo, Miss Elsden, and are encouraged to participate in the development of support for their child.
We ensure that our curriculum is accessible to all pupils including those with disabilities and special educational needs as required by the Equality Act 2010 and Special Educational Needs and Disability Regulations 2014.
Our Local Offer and SEN Information Report provide more in depth information regarding our SEN provision and how we support pupils with Special Educational Needs.
